Take Off Childish Things This Sunday
This Sunday, January 22nd, we continue Take It Off, Take It All Off (our series based in Hebrews 12). This particular Sunday, we discuss taking off the weight of childish things.“When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.” (1 Corinthians 13:11,
NIV) This Sunday, we will distinguish the difference between childlike and childish. And, we will also look at the importantce of growth in being a disciple of Jesus Christ.In this series, we are focusing on the idea of taking it off – getting rid of the stuff and the sin that slows us down and trips us up. We hope that everyone will be encouraged not to set goals but to set aside – to set aside the hurts, habits, and hang-ups that prevent us from being the people God created and redeemed us to be.
As you prepare this week, read and think over these Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 14:20 & Ephesians 4:14-15. We will continue the conversation together this Sunday at our Celebration Services (8:30 & 10:30 a.m.)!
