Sarah Hrenchir- Children’s Ministry Director

I was born here in Bakersfield, into a wonderful Christian family and have lived here ever since. I attended a private Christian school in Bakersfield from pre-school through eighth grade. When it came time to attend high school, I decided to give public school a try. This was a wonderful choice, because I was able to minister to many of my friends- and even lead a few of them to the Lord! I graduated from CSUB where I majored in Child Development and minored in Art.
I’ve been working with children, in a church atmosphere, since I was a teenager. I had no idea that when I began attending Life Journey and helping in Base Camp that I would be leading the entire K-5
th program in just a few years. I had no known desire to be a leader of that magnitude; I wasn’t even sure that leading children was my talent (let alone leading adults!). I say that I kind of just fell into the role of K-5
th Children’s Ministry Director, but I know that it was all part of God’s plan. It’s been about

five years now, and I absolutely love what I do. I’ve always loved to be around children, but I never thought that I would be playing such a large part in molding them into followers of the Lord. I am so thankful that God opened the door to this wonderful role that I didn’t even know I wanted. He has really blessed me with this opportunity.
