Our Vision

Our Vision

At Life Journey we recognize that everyone is on a spiritual journey. Our vision is that along that path everyone who attends Life Journey would experience three mountain tops.

CELEBRATE what God is doing
One way we celebrate is by gathering on Sundays to worship and learn. We intentionally include a celebration feature each week- something that God has recently done in or among us. Our worship celebrates who God is and our teaching celebrates how God works. We also encourage everyone to celebrate on their own throughout the week in a daily time studying the Bible, praying or worshipping.

CONNECT with each other

This is something you will notice right away at Life Journey.  We enjoy being together!  When you walk in the door, you’ll see that we sit around tables on Sunday, facing each other instead of facing the front in rows, as if for a performance.  We make connecting a central part of our worship each week by taking 10 minutes or so during our service for “table time”.  We answer ice breaker questions that relate to the message that day and help us get to know each other.  We don’t want you to leave feeling like you have seen a performance, but that you have connected with God and his people.

We also connect in small groups throughout the week.  Together we dig into God’s Word and get serious about helping each other take our next steps toward God.

CONTRIBUTE to our community and the world

Instead of “having” church, we like to “be” the church!  We love to contribute. The church isn’t a building or an event on Sunday morning.  It is a group of people representing Jesus to people around them.  About once every other month, instead of meeting “for” church, we leave the building for an event we call “Gone for Good.”  We do some sort of service project in our community that includes acts of kindness or radical service.

We also contribute to our community and beyond by helping to start more churches. We dedicate 10% of our general offerings to church planting.  We have helped with the start of one local church and are excited to help with a Hispanic church in 2010.
