Small Groups
Southwest Small Group: Tuesdays, 6-8 PM
Our small group starts each meeting off with food! We rotate who brings the meal each week, so each family only cooks (or buys) for the group every other month or so. Our group is casual and relational but also focused on true spiritual growth. This summer, we are working through the book of Proverbs. At the end of the summer we will form two groups from our one growing group.
Ladies Small Group: Fridays, 10 AM -12 N
The Ladies Small Group is a cluster of women of all ages who have come together to celebrate God’s presence and connect with one another while growing in His Word. We enjoy refreshments and coffee while feasting on scripture and praying for one another. But we are more than just a Bible Study, we have become a group of sisters encouraging and supporting each other on our journey. Any lady who would like to come is invited! We always have room for one more! We meet at the Life Journey Ministry Center. This summer we are journeying through Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians – one book at a time manuscript style.
Northwest Small Group
The Northwest Bakersfield Small Group is a study oriented small group committed to in-depth study of God's word and practical application for the Christian life. Topics covered in the past include Galatians, The Letters of John, Understanding the Will of God, and Tactics in Defending the Faith. The Northwest Small Group will be studying apologetics this fall.
Classes
Financial Peace University
This group runs for 13 weeks and uses the curriculum of Dave Ramsey.It is a biblically-based, video-taught class with group discussion included. Each class covers a different topic including saving, budgeting, eliminating debt, and giving like never before. It will change the way you think about personal finance. Personal Security Mondays 6:30-8:30 PM
The unique system of Independent Yakzir Maka (a Hebrew term translated To Counter An Attack) Federation was created in 2005 after 14 years of scientific research, training, and cross-training. It incorportates Hapkido, Krav Maga, Western Boxing, Muay Thai, Kali, and Jeet Kune Do. The foundation of the Yakzir Maka system is based on the teachings of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in which believers in Jesus can train and learn unique self-defense skills and fellowship in the name of God.

The first Saturday of each month, the Life Journey Men come together for a meal and conversation at Hodels. For more details or questions, contact the church office.
Ladies Night Out
The ladies of Life Journey are invited to join for the monthly Ladies Night Out. With the perfect combination of favorite snacks, laughter and prayer, everyone has a great time. To find out about our next event or questions, contact the church office.
Men's Music Fellowship
Guys who are musically inclined, join the bi-monthly (every other week) jam session. Every other Wednesday at 6:45pm bring your instrument, 5 copies of your lead sheet of choice, and jam with us on great worship tunes. To find out more information, contact the church office.
