David Limiero

David Limiero- Lead Pastor

I was born in New Jersey, but moved out of the “Garden State” before I was three. The rest of my growing up years were spent outside Boulder, Colorado, and I graduated from the University of Colorado in 1988 with a degree in International Affairs with a concentration in Soviet and Eastern European studies. After I graduated I had the opportunity to serve as a ministry intern at my home church and quickly realized that God was calling me to be an ambassador for Jesus instead of an ambassador for the United States government.

Most of my early years were spent as a “nominal” Christian and it wasn’t until I was eighteen that I really accepted the incredible gift God was offering to me in Jesus. I came to an adult faith that year in a brand-new church that was meeting in my high school, which ignited a passion for starting new churches that was finally fulfilled when I moved to California.

Along the way, I spent some time in a cult, moved to Tennessee where I met my wife Jan (who needed David and Jan Limieroto hear the voice of God to know that it was OK to marry a pastor – for me it was love at first sight!) and spent ten wonderful (and snowy!) years in Chicago, before moving to Bakersfield in 2003 to help start Life Journey.

In addition to my passion for Jesus and my family, I’ve also got a passion for technology (can you say “geek”?), reading, and being outdoors enjoying God’s creation. People at Life Journey would tell you I also have a passion for coffee – that’s because they are too nice to call it an addiction!
